No one tells you that introducing solids to your baby can be a challenge. I introduced my daughter Luna to solids at 6 months and she had no interest. We tried, again and again, only to have her throw food on the floor. She wouldn't let us come near her with a spoon and she wasn't even self feeding. I started to get worried and set up a virtual consult with Caitlin when Luna was around 9 months. Caitlin gave us some really great feedback and several tips and tricks. She told us we needed to work on Luna's chewing oral-motor skills. Using Caitlin's advice, we tried to make meal time as fun and pressureless as possible. We got messy with Luna and just let her have FUN! Fast forward to 11 months and Caitlin came to do an in-home consultation to see the progression Luna has made. She still wont let us near her with the spoon (she's an independent little lady!) but she is starting to self feed and Caitlin noticed that her chewing motor function has vastly improved and her eating is getting better day by day! Caitlin has always been available to me via text, email and phone. Anytime I have questions I reach out to her and she gets back to me immediately. She is also SO great with kids. She has such a wonderful demeanor and such a good vibe, Luna was immediately drawn to her. Luna liked Caitlin so much she even offered her some of her food! We're looking forward to another follow up visit with Caitlin in a couple months so she can see all the progress little Luna has made!

I had no idea what occupational therapy was and remember just agreeing to whatever she said so I could run out of the office and cry in the car because I was embarrassed, frustrated, overwhelmed, and just about every other emotion you can name. But his behavior didn’t phase her. She was cool, calm, and collected and assured me that she could help me.

In looking back to those first few visits with Caitlin, they were painful to say the least. His lack of communication skills combined with his high frustration was a recipe for disaster. But not for Caitlin. She had seen him at his worst and was determined to help him be his best. She pushed him past his comfort levels and helped him recognize the potential he had inside himself. Never once did she doubt his ability to overcome any challenge she put in front of him. I don’t even recognize him sometimes now.
Caitlin has been outstanding every step of his journey. She has been able to access his needs, his strengths and his personality and what works best for him. I truly believe she has had his best interests at heart. Noah feels completely comfortable with her and looks forward to working with her weekly. Having been a manager for twenty years in a different industry, I can attest to her professionalism and her desire to go above and beyond. Even when we were unable to make it into the office for the 2nd session, she was always willing to come to our home.

He (our son) was referred to occupational therapy because of throwing tantrums and we didn't know why. We as a family couldn't go anywhere because of this. He only ate and drank a few things as well. Easton wouldn’t interact with anyone other than his parents and grandparents. He was frustrated at everything he tried to do. He would hit, bite, kick, scream and cover his face. Easton has grown so much with Caitlin as his therapist. They have created a special bond. There is no doubt that she is an exceptional occupational therapist. I don’t know where we would be without her help.

I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Caitlin. Feeding therapy can be tricky, but Caitlin really knows her stuff. From our first visit I had full confidence that Caitlin would be able to 1) understand precisely what my son's issues were, and 2) treat them with precision. That alone is no small feat, but the real bonus came in learning that Caitlin is also incredibly personable and kind. She made challenging work fun and my son absolutely loved her visits. Caitlin also made my life easier by always being flexible with scheduling and other accommodations - a true gift to any parent of a child with special needs. Most importantly, we made tremendous progress during our time together. I can't recommend her highly enough!
