CONCIERGE OT IS DIFFERENT

Feeding therapy in your home, on your schedule

The word concierge simply means one thing: I am here to serve you, your child, and your family. By running as a concierge practice, I am able to give each family and child significantly more one-on-one attention. This allows me to develop a strong connection with both your child and your family and creates a strong foundation for effective treatment.

In your home...

Kids don't eat their meals in a clinic- why should therapy be provided there?

Feeding therapy is typically provided in a clinic or hospital setting in which the child completes an hour session in a therapy kitchen. Often, the parents are left behind in waiting area, leaving them out of treatment entirely. While I have experienced therapeutic success in the clinical setting, the research shows that when therapy is provided in the child’s natural environment, treatment is substantially more effective. While working as an early intervention therapist, I provided care in my patients’ homes.  I saw first-hand how the patient and family experience is improved when a therapist is able to engage with the family during their normal routines. By integrating therapy into a family’s existing surroundings, rather than forcing the family to adjust to a new setting, I am able to offer a therapy program that ensures maximum benefit to my patients.

On your schedule...

My goal is to fit within your family's already established schedule, and not the other way around.

I understand that raising children can be chaotic and unpredictable at times. This is tenfold in families who are raising children with disabilities or challenges. Most of the time, these families struggle to fit within the constraints of the world around them without the world making any attempt to adapt to them and their needs. In a typical clinic setting, appointments are scheduled for the same time each week with little to no flexibility. Families typically sign an attendance contract, allowing for some schedule fluidity, but only to an extent. My aim is to provide in-home feeding therapy that respects these ever-changing needs and allows for schedule changes if, and when, they are required. I will always work with you to find a time that works best for you, your child, and your family.

Concierge OT benefits...

The following benefits are included for no additional fee as part of the session cost:

Flexible Scheduling

Life is unpredictable, especially with small children. I aim to give my families as much flexibility as possible when it comes to weekly appointments. I allow changes whenever they are needed and I do not charge late cancellation fees.

Direct Access to Therapist

The typical therapy model has the parent calling an administrator in order to reach their therapist with questions or concerns. As a service included in your session prices, I provide each parent with direct access to me via text, email, or phone. For set hours during the week and on Saturdays, I will respond to any electronic communication I receive from you.

Limited Patient List

In order to provide each family I serve with as much one-on-one attention as possible, I run a limited caseload. This simply means that I put a cap on the number of patients I am seeing at any given time. This allows me to give each child significantly more focused attention than in in a typical clinical setting.

Customized, leave-behind therapy materials

I hand-make many different types of therapy visuals and supports including feeding-related card games, visual schedules, and behavioral supports. I give these to families based on their needs, for no additional cost.
